Saint Hoax, the artist from the Middle East who signs these drawings, wanted to draw our attention to a pathology that is still poorly understood: infantile anorexia, a scourge that would affect between 0.5 and 2% of minors in Europe.
A disease that develops from the age of 5
For example, in Great Britain, between 2008 and 2011, around 100 children aged 5 to 7 were hospitalized for severe anorexia. And over the same period, of the 2,000 children treated for the same pathology in the country’s 35 hospitals, 600 were under 13 years old.
“With these drawings, I wanted to speak directly to these children”, explains the artist. on his web page. Indeed, below each illustration, we can read the sentence “Do not let anorexia devour you raw.”
Saint Hoax is not at his first attempt: in July 2014, this artist had already requisitioned the Disney princesses to denounce incestuous rapes: we saw Jasmine, Aurore and Ariel, raped by their own dads. Shocking, yes, but effective.
