Referral is not necessary
People who have been visiting the same dentist for a long time sometimes get the impression that certain problems cannot be solved. While there are specialists who have a solution. But then your dentist should know that these specialists – and their solutions – exist.
Orthodontist Bas Njio: “My experience is that the somewhat older dentist is certainly not used to referring an adult patient for cosmetic treatment to someone who can. For example, a large group simply does not know what modern braces techniques are available. I receive weekly positive response from dentists through my patients. For them, invisible braces are new, I’ve been doing it for over ten years.”
Root canal treatment
There are more and more dentists with a specialization. For example, you can go to certain endodontists for complex root canal treatment, or to a periodontist who treats serious inflammations of the gums and adjacent jaw bone.
No referral needed
A referral is not necessary for a visit to such a specialist. If consultation with your dentist is necessary, it is even better after the visit. Anyone who goes to another person does not have to worry that this will be reported to his own dentist. Specialists and dentists will only do this if you ask.
