38% of people who had a quote made from their Dentiste for care gave up treatment, and 17.8% only achieved part of it, reveals data from Santéclair, a subsidiary of several complementary health organizations.Health Insurance.
4 out of ten French people have thus already given up seeking treatment, according to this survey conducted on 500 quotes sent by members of Santéclair. Out of all the quotes, 200 included a remainder of more than 1,000 euros, 197 a remainder of 250 to 1,000 euros and 103 a rest of less than 250 euros. Only 203 of the affected patients underwent the full treatment.
60% waiver for costs greater than 1,000 euros
The reason for giving up care? The cost if we are to believe Marianne Binst, director of Santéclair. “As soon as the remainder of the charge, that is to say the sum to be paid at the end of the day by the patient, exceeds 1,000 euros, the renunciation climbs to 60%, demonstrating a link between cost and abandonment”, explains- she does.
It should be noted that the study did not take into account patients benefiting from CMU (universal health coverage) and ACS (assistance with Complementary Health).
