This Wednesday, March 10, 2021, the government launched the Santé Psy Étudiant site as part of the ” student psychiatric checks ”Set up last month by Emmanuel Macron. This is a platform offering students in psychological distress the possibility of having free sessions with a psychologist.
Launch of the Student Psy Health platform
Between periods of confinement and isolation, distance learning, the lack of social contact and financial difficulties, the students are subjected to severe tests in this health situation relating to the Coivd-19 epidemic. It is estimated that a third of the students would have shown signs of psychological distress during the first confinement. It is in this context of extreme loneliness and precariousness that President Emmanuel Macron announced the establishment of ” student psychiatric checks »On January 21.
To do this, the authorities launched the platform Student Psychic Health in order to provide psychological support to students in distress. Posted on Wednesday March 10, 2021, the site allows students who so wish to benefit from free and anonymous consultations with a psychologist. The platform brings together nearly 1,300 psychologists who have graduated for at least three years.

In practice, the system allows students to have access to three 45-minute sessions without having to advance any costs since the consultations are fully covered by the student psychiatric check system set up by the state. To benefit from this help, students must first consult their general practitioner or the university’s health services before being able to connect to the platform and thus find a psychologist close to their place of residence.
If necessary, the doctor in charge of monitoring the student can renew the package of three sessions. This leaves the possibility of obtaining six sessions in total without having to pay anything. If the student wishes, he can also benefit from a videoconference session with a professional partner predisposed to remote sessions. In addition to providing psychological support and facilitating access to psychological monitoring for students, the Student Psy Health platform should help relieve the usual structures.
