Due to an increased risk of drowsiness, the French Agency for the Safety of Health Products (Afssaps) invites patients in possession of batch C48 of Dimetane syrup without sugar 133mg / 100ml to no longer use it and to bring it back to their pharmacy.
This decision follows an overdose of around 20% of pholcodine, the active ingredient in this specialty. Dimetane syrup without sugar 133mg / 100ml is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of dry cough in children and adults.
