Last March, the Minister of Health Marisol Touraine expressed her desire to raise awareness and facilitate access to the pill for younger generations, in order to reduce unwanted pregnancies. Concretely, from Sunday, 15-18 year olds who want to use a 1st or 2nd generation pill , even if the parents disagree, they will be fully reimbursed.
From now on, young girls will be able to go directly to the pharmacy, on condition, however, to justify a prescription and to present the vital card of their parents.
In other words, minors will no longer need to go through the family planning box to obtain a free contraceptive. More practical ? Not necessarily, because to have a prescription, minors will have to pay a consultation with the doctor, and therefore lose the advantage of possible anonymity at the family planning center. Especially since they will have to have the vital card of their parents.
Abortion 100% reimbursed for everyone
the IUD and the contraceptive implant, currently covered at 65%, will also be free. March 31 also marks the enlargement to all women and no longer just minors of the total reimbursement of the voluntary termination of pregnancy(Abortion).
