Fifteen days of quarantine. This is what will be imposed on you if you return from a “risk zone”, that is to say an infectious focus, or if you have been in contact with a person affected by the coronavirus, or even if you are suspected of having contracted it. So… you can’t get to work. Unless you cannot work from home, what daily allowances are you entitled to? The law adapted to this exceptional situation on February 1, 2020.
In the event of confinement, you will be entitled to daily allowances for a period of 20 days, informs the Public Service site. And this, immediately:The decree also provides that the Health Insurance does not apply a waiting period, in order to allow the payment of daily allowances from the first day of the stoppage.“
How do parents whose children are stuck at home do?
This applies to an employee who could not come to work. But if the children are stuck at home, what happens? As the school holidays end in various places in France, around 2,000 pupils have not returned to school. National education has ordered all children who have gone to risk areas to stay at home.
So, in this case, how are the parents doing? Since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, the law has adapted to this eventuality, too: “It has been decided to extend this measure to parents who cannot go to work because their child is subject to an isolation measure.“These are “derogatory conditions” which were put in place on February 2, and which will be effective for two months from this date.
From March 4the Ministry of Health and Health Insurance are simplifying the work stoppage procedure for parents forced to stay at home to look after children in areas where the virus is circulating. The parent of a child under 16 can benefit from paid sick leave if he cannot benefit from an adjustment of his working conditions allowing him to stay at home to look after his child. To do this, the parent concerned contacts his employer and discusses with him the teleworking arrangements that could be put in place. If no solution can be found, it is the employer, via the employer page of the Ameli site, who must declare the work stoppage of his employee. Compensation is then triggered from this declaration. The employee will receive the daily allowances, and if necessary the supplement from his employer, from the first day of application of the waiting period. Only one of the two parents can benefit from a stop in this context.
As a reminder, the incubation time is 14 days, the same for confinement. Symptoms are: headache, fatigue, cough, body aches, difficulty breathing. The coronavirus can be transmitted in two ways: by sputtering, or by touching your eyes, mouth or nose with your hands. As a preventive measure: keep a safety distance of 1M from potentially sick people, wash your hands well regularly, use single-use tissues, protect your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
