A slight drop. In January 2015, we remember that the first union of liberal doctors was already stamping its feet to obtain a reassessment of the consultation, from 23 euros (for general practitioners) to 31 euros. Today, liberal doctors have lowered their demands a little and are ready to give in at the price of … 30 euros. Jean-Paul Ortiz, president of the Confederation of French Medical Unions (CSMF), standard bearer of this request, specifies that the price of 30 euros would apply to the basic medical act for general practitioners and specialists. Its amount would increase according to the complexity of the exercise.
“The price of 23 euros is disconnected from the daily reality of the general practitioner. This is one of the major reasons for the deep crisis expressed by the doctors and the disaffection for general medicine”, he explains to the ‘AFP. The fight defended by the doctor aims to “enhance the work of the doctor” as well as “his expertise”, he judges.
The fate of the doctors will not be decided before the next professional elections on October 12, as the government had specified during the last calls from CSMF.
Until then, the doctors of the CSMF fully intend to be heard by the senators responsible for examining the health bill from September 14. A text to which doctors are firmly opposed, a strong wind in particular against the generalization of third-party payment.
