Citroën starts exporting the C5 X from the Chinese factory where the car is produced. A ship carrying about a thousand copies has just taken the direction of Europe. In France, the C5 X starts at €32,900.
Entering production in September 2021 in China, at the Dongfeng-Citroën plant in Chengdu, the Citroën C5 X is beginning to invest in the European market. 1,222 copies of the new herringbone cruiser left the port of Shanghai on March 2, 2022 to the Old Continent. They must land in Zeebrugge, Belgium.

European deliveries in limited quantities

The Citroën C5 X had been presented in April 2021 and the order book for Europe had been opened last September but nearly two-thirds of production is dedicated to the Chinese market, the first target of the French model. Only 1,238 C5 Xs had therefore been exported so far.
The pace picks up slowly. The car is to be sold in 45 countries outside of China. The ship, which recently left Shanghai, is to supply eight European states.

Very progressive career start for the C5 X
In France, the Citroën C5 X is offered with a 130 hp or 180 hp petrol engine as well as a 225 hp plug-in hybrid version. Its bodywork at the crossroads between saloon, SUV and estate, as well as the emphasis placed on on-board comfort, thanks in particular to its suspension with hydraulic stops, place it in line with the large atypical Citroëns. Its Chinese manufacture allows it to be displayed at attractive prices compared to those of the competition since it starts at €32,900 in France. In France, 112 Citroën C5 X have been registered to date, including 47 in February 2022. A significant part of these vehicles was intended for exhibitions and tests. The first customers should be delivered in March. Globally, Citroën has sold 12,114 C5 Xs to date.
