In traditional Chinese medicine, disorders and illnesses can have several causes. Thereby, headache may be related to a kidney vacuum if the headache is accompanied by dizziness, tinnitus and insomnia; to excess heat in the stomach if the pain is intense, frontal and throbbing; to an excess of humidity and a deficiency of the spleen and the stomach if the head is heavy, or to an excess of heat of the liver if it is lodged on the top of the head … It is therefore necessary to establish a personalized diagnosis at a given time.
Plant cocktails
In all cases, herbal medicine Chinese systematically combines five to twenty plants to compose “hierarchical” therapeutic cocktails. For example, to treat tinnitus after having verified that the origin is not dental, cervical, or ENT, we associate plants that treat the imbalance of the kidneys with others that clean the meridian of the gallbladder … “In these cocktails, we systematically find an“ emperor plant ”which provides the main action, then“ minister ”plants which surround it. Then others, less important but useful, for example to reduce the side effects or to facilitate the work of the main plants ”, explains Bertrand Bimont, graduate of Traditional Chinese Medicine, also osteopath.
Nearly sixty formulas
This practitioner created, in 2004, after more than 10 years in office, the only French laboratory (www.laboratoiresbimont.fr) offering authorized “food supplements” of Chinese herbal medicine, intended for therapists but also for the general public, in self-medication. . The sixty or so formulas available come from the work that refers to “Great Chinese Pharmacopoeia Form” by Eric Marié. These are products with a broader spectrum than a prescription personalized by a therapist, but which allow to relieve the major problems induced by energy stagnation, blockages of the meridians and voids of certain organs … And above all, which are adapted to French legislation. Because in France, the masterly preparations of Chinese plants are illegal. Some foreign laboratories carry them out to order, but vigilance is required because they work with sometimes unsecured supplier circuits. The risks toxicity, pollution of plants by heavy metals, the absence of information on plants (precautions for use, contraindications, etc.) are therefore very real.
