ADHD, ADD, autism, dyscalculia or dyslexia are more commonly diagnosed in children these days. They often receive extra help at school. In the past, there was little or no help. But in hindsight, you might have had it too. For an article in Plus Magazine we are looking for people over 50 who have such a ‘modern’ diagnosis and who want to talk about it in an interview.
You may have discovered it in yourself, because a grandchild also had it. A health care professional may have discovered it in you. Anyway – there is now much more help with ADHD, ADD, autism, dyscalculia or dyslexia. You probably had to miss that in the past. Have you missed opportunities in your professional or personal life as a result? Or are you just glad you were spared this label in the past? Or are you lucky enough to have met a husband, teacher, girlfriend or psychologist who has been of great help to you? You may now be taking medications such as methylphenidate that suppress the symptoms. We would love to read your story.
