I am a 65 year old woman with type 1 diabetes. I am on temporary paracetamol 1000mg and today I took the first dose. Three hours after lunch I tested my blood; the blood sugar level was to my surprise 14.2. For me, that’s very high, especially hours after a meal. The GP and pharmacy did not know whether the paracetamol was the cause. What do you think?

The cause is probably simpler. In most forms of ‘not feeling well’, especially with infectious diseases, the body goes into the stressposition and your insulin sensitivity decreases. That means that with the same amount insulin a higher blood sugar level will get.
