The year 2015 was marked by a strong mobilization of blood donors, in particular following the attacks of November 13. But the need for blood remains high and, during this holiday season, donations are usually lower and therefore not sufficient to meet the needs of hospitals. This is why the French Blood Establishment (EFS) is appealing for end-of-year donations and organizing mobile blood drives throughout France. “Reserves are usually fragile in January, after the holiday season. But the needs are not decreasing: 10,000 donations are needed every day to meet the needs of the sick.“recalls the EFS. Blood donations are used to treat many people: victims of accidents, cancer or leukemia patients, but also anyone preparing to undergo surgery. also serve to advance medical researchand therapeutic.
