Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, has signed a law opening the door for Bitcoin.
In the past, the Eastern European country was not so open to cryptocurrency. That has now changed, probably partly due to the war with Russia. Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a new law officially legalizing cryptocurrency in the country. With that, the president opens the door to receive digital donations to defend the country against the attacks of neighboring Russia.
The developments ensure a rising price of Bitcoin. It is the third time in a short time that cryptocurrency has to deal with big positive news. Earlier it was announced that the European Union is more positive about crypto. And about a week ago, US President Joe Biden signed another bill to look at how America can regulate crypto.
Bitcoin is up more than 4 percent in the last 24 hours at the time of writing. The price value is above $ 41,000 on Coindesk† There is no sign of a real breakthrough yet. Bitcoin was also at this value more than a week ago and at the beginning of this month as well. For that, the price has to rise much further to really speak of a turning point. But with the developments, this time from Ukraine, Bitcoin is in a stronger position than before.
