Phenoxyethanol is a preservative of the glycol ethers family which has the ability to enter the body through the skin. From now on, if the baby wipes contain it, you will necessarily be notified with a warning on the packaging. In a press release, the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM) recalls that in March, it took a health policy, concerning the presence of phenoxyethanol in cosmetic products.
This decision, which takes effect on December 20 (in other words in 3 days), asks manufacturers to specify on the labeling of non-rinse cosmetic products containing phenoxyethanol (excluding deodorants, styling products and makeup products), that they cannot be used on the buttocks of children 3 years of age or younger.
This decision is the subject of a substantive motion from the Federation of Beauty Industries (FEBEA) which requested its annulment. This request is currently under investigation.
