Tamara discovered her pregnancy while flying from Ecuador to Spain. The young woman went into labor and gave birth during the flight.
- In France, it is estimated that one in 500 pregnancies is a denial of pregnancy
- The term “total denial” is used when a woman finds out about her pregnancy during labor or delivery.
During a KLM flight between Guyaquil, Ecuador, and Spain, Tamara, a young woman, suffered from stomach pains. She therefore went to the bathroom, but to her surprise, the traveler discovered that she had contractions and therefore that she was in full labor. After two contractions, she had her baby in her hands.
Quick delivery after pregnancy denial
Luckily, medical professionals were on the plane and helped the young woman after giving birth. On board the flight were a nurse and two Austrian doctors. The baby was named Maximiliano after one of these people. The flight crew said they were very grateful to the practitioners in an interview with NL Times.
The young mother and her baby were admitted to the Spaarne Gasthuis Haarlem Zui hospital during the planned stopover at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam (Netherlands). “Tamara had no idea she was pregnant and was quite taken aback by the event.” the hospital reported on its online platform. The young woman therefore experienced a denial of pregnancy.
A healthy baby and mother
When they arrived at the hospital, Tamara and Maximiliano were both in good health. “The delivery service team did everything possible to ensure that both received proper care and were on their way to the necessary paperwork for Maximiliano. As soon as possible, Tamara and Maximiliano will travel to Madrid. The Spaarne Gasthuis their wish good lucke”, reassured the Spaarne Gasthuis Haarlem Zui hospital.
