Front row to the glorious V12 whine
Amputating the roof sounds like a crazy move for a car born out of an obsession with aerodynamics, but that’s exactly what Aston Martin has done. The Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider would offer more headroom (or actually: infinitely much) and according to the brand the Spider would enhance the F1 feeling. With a deafening 6.5-litre V12 that spins up to 11,100 rpm, this is really the version you want. The radio can stay off.
Aston Martin installs a removable carbon fiber roof. In this roof are polycarbonate windows for a little extra light in the cabin. The gullwing doors disappear: the Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider gets butterfly doors that also open upwards. Aston Martin builds 85 copies of the Spider. These come next to the 150 normal Valkyries and next to the 40 track specials. Delivery should really start next year.
Specifications Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider
The specifications are the same as the normal Valkyrie. The V12 produces just over 1,000 horsepower on its own. The Croatian Rimac, known for the Nevera, provided an electric motor that delivers another 160 hp and 280 Nm. Total power is 1,155 hp at 10,500 rpm and 900 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Without a roof, it can reach 330 km/h and with the roof on, the top is even 350 km/h. The Spider would be only marginally heavier than the dense Valkyrie.
