In this new school year, unwanted people invite themselves into the gardens and streets of France. Ragweed pollens are on the rise, particularly around the Rhône-Alpes.
Back to school for allergies. According to surveillance data from the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA), ragweed pollens will peak at the end of August until September 5.
The amount of ragweed pollen has already been increasing for several days. Isère, Drôme and Rhône are particularly concerned by this alert, underlines the RNSA in its report. Unsurprisingly, it is therefore in the Rhône-Alpes region that the risk is highest. But it extends more widely to certain departments further south (Vaucluse, Gard, Bouches-du-Rhône) and north (Cher, Indre, Nièvre, Yonne). In these conditions, following medical recommendations is essential.
Other pollens are also progressing, without any real consequence on allergies. The urticaceae pollens in circulation are increasing slightly, while the pollens of grass, mugwort and plantain are starting to become scarce, “after a long season”, underlines the RNSA.
