Last night, around 2 a.m. at Grenoble station, a traveler who presented with a high fever and disorders that strongly suggested the Ebola virus, was transported to the Grenoble-La Tronche University Hospital for treatment and confined in waiting for confirmation of his state of health.
According to the liberated Dauphiné, The patient, who applied for refugee status on French territory, traveled to Congo and Sierra Leone, two countries where the Ebola virus epidemic has spread widely. Faced with the symptoms presented, the patient was then transferred to the Croix-Rousse hospital in Lyon, which is equipped to receive Ebola patients.
It is now necessary to wait 48 hours to check if the suspicion of the Ebola virus is confirmed, the time to carry out blood tests in a Lyon laboratory. If the man really has Ebola, then he will be taken to a high-security room to be treated and to prevent the disease from spreading. It should be noted, however, that in 9 months, out of 675 reports processed in Lyon, none turned out to be cases of Ebola.
