An American study, carried out by researchers at the University of Utah, reveals a correlation between penis size and infertility.
Shorter sex could cause fertility problems
This new survey, conducted among 815 participants, reveals that thepenis size would have an impact on fertility prospects. These results were presented during the conference of theAmerican Society for Reproductive Medicine, which was held until October 10.
Scientists have shown that men with signs of infertility had an erect penis of about 12.5 cm, compared to an average of 13.4 cm for fertile men. A difference of only 1 centimeter would thus change the situation.. According to study director Dr Austen Slade, “It may not be a striking difference but there is real statistical significance “.
Is the size of the penis really a handicap to conceive?
These results should be interpreted with caution. Indeed, the study does not give any indication on the “minimum” size of a penis which could cause infertility, and is also careful not to give explanations on the fact that a shorter penis would be less fertile. .
Male fertility has been declining steadily for many years. Other studies reveal that factors such as the environment, smoking or stress, would also have an impact on the possibility of having a child.
