David versus Goliath. Bernard Coadou, retired general practitioner in Gironde, intends to continue the standoff between him and the Order of Physicians. Rebel, the doctor has not paid his contributions to the Order of Physicians of his department since 2012. Summoned to court for this reason by the institution, the practitioner finally saw the proceedings against him withdrawn. But for all that, the irreducible does not intend to submit and wishes to continue his fight.
What is this fight besides? The man who has always refused to join and contribute toDoctor’s ordersexplains thus fight “for associative freedom, so that the will to join or not to join is respected by all professional groups,” he says on France bleu Gironde.
Since the 80s and 90s, already rebellious, he has been fighting alongside about fifty colleagues against an established order which, according to him, forces doctors to pay 330 euros per year for a practicing doctor and 90 for a retiree.
He defends himself staunchly, it is not a matter of money but a matter of morality and principle. He does not want to fit into the mold and intends to continue to protest against these conventions by attracting the media around him in particular.
A puzzling insubordination
On the side of the Order, we do not hide our incredulity. Albert Roche, the Girondin president of the Order, questioned by France Bleu is surprised by this sling when the subject “is closed”. “He owes contributions arrears of around 350 euros and he can request an exemption for 2016 if he wishes. Now, if he wants to make it a fight on the usefulness of the Council of the Order, it is different. But it’s been 75 years that the Order imposes a compulsory and legal contribution to the doctors who want to practice, and it is like that “.
