“My prostate cancer was diagnosed on Friday June 13, 2014. On September 17 of that same year, after the treatment, I had another test and was declared cured. The three months that passed between these two announcements have been weeks of roller coasters that hundreds of thousands of men experience each year “.
This is how actor Ben Stiller reveals he has suffered from prostate cancer two years ago.
Advocacy for the PSA test
“Make PSA level test(prostate specific antigen) saved my life. Literally. That is why I have decided to testify now. There is nothing scientific about this testimony, but you should know that I was not considered a high-risk person when my doctor made the diagnosis. There was no case of prostate cancer in my family and I was only 46 years old. I owe my life to a doctor specializing in internal medicine who thought I was reaching the age when a PSA test could be useful “.
So, I had cancer a couple of years ago and I wanted to talk about it. And the test that saved my life. https://t.co/KWirBcRZ7D

Prostate cancer is the second most frequent human cancer, but it is also one of the cancers on which we can act and which is best cured if caught early enough. Ben Stiller is therefore now campaigning for the early detection of this disease.
In France, men are generally advised to talk to a doctor about it from the age of 45 if they have a history in their family or if they are of Afro-Caribbean origin.
