If you receive a message about a package that you can expect or has sent, pay attention! There are false messages in circulation from a so-called parcel deliverer. The fraudulent organization behind the messages is out to get you to take out a subscription.
The message states that your package has been held up at a distribution center due to outstanding shipping charges. Your shipment could only be continued if you transfer an additional amount of 2 euros via a payment link. Don’t fall for this! When transferring the amount, you take out a subscription or membership, or a reserved debit on a credit card.
This is the best thing you can do
If you receive an SMS with such a message, do not pay the amount but delete the message immediately. If you receive a call from the same number, do not answer. Have you indeed recently sent a package or are you expecting one? Then it is important that you pay extra attention and check the message before responding to it.
Already paid and also received a confirmation for a subscription? Please contact the Fraud Helpdesk on 088-786 7372 or via the report form.
