If the past 2 weeks have been difficult for those allergic to birch and plane tree, the situation should improve. But oak and grass pollens are coming.
Notice the itchy throats, itchy eyes, and runny nose, the ordeal of allergies is far from over. It’s a pollen crossover that allergy sufferers should expect, according to the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA).
More birch in the north of Bordeaux-Grenoble
Indeed, in his last pollen vigilance card (from April 24 to 1er May 2015), the RNSA underlines that if “vacationers cross paths on the roads, pollens cross paths in the air! “
With a little respite anyway for those most affected. “While the past two weeks have been trying for those allergic to birch, plane tree or even ash pollens, the situation should improve a little in the days to come because these pollens have passed the peak of their season and should, slowly but surely, start to decrease, ”predicts the Network in its latest press release. The Network adds that “the numerous showers forecast for next week should also alleviate a little the ordeal experienced by allergics. “
Despite this good news, some French regions will have to wait a little longer to see birch pollen completely disappear. For example, “during sunny periods, the allergic risk concerning birch pollen will be medium to high north of a Bordeaux-Grenoble line”, warns the RNSA.
Oak and grasses on the menu for the next few days
Finally, if some pollens will be decreasing, others will be more and more numerous. This is the case of oak pollen, which arrived suddenly this week, responsible for an average allergic risk over a large part of the territory and low in the north and in the Mediterranean.
But also, grass pollens, “the next worst enemies of allergic people”, which are beginning to impose themselves on the western side of the country and in Rhône-Alpes with an allergic risk very often reaching the average level.
Finally, it is the parieture pollens that will soon appear in France and will also bother allergics with a medium to high risk in the Mediterranean. “People who are allergic to all these pollens must scrupulously follow the treatments prescribed by their doctor”, concludes the RNSA.
