This Monday, October 5 at 11:30 am, a press conference was held in the presence of the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, the Paris police prefect, the director of the ARS and the rector of the Academy. What new measures are being taken in Paris and in the three departments of the Petite-Couronne to curb the Covid-19 epidemic?
Alert thresholds exceeded
The director of the ARS (regional health agency) of Ile-de-France, Aurélien Rousseau, announced that the figures exceed the maximum alert threshold in the capital. Since September 28, the incidence rate has exceeded 260 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Paris and 200 in Petit-Couronne. The bed occupancy rate by Covid-19 patients has crossed the 36% rate in the metropolis. Concerning the clusters, “203 are active in the region, 40% are of school and university origin, 26% of professional origin and 10% come from private gatherings, this figure having doubled since the start of the school year”, informs us Mr. Rousseau. And to add: ““ The tension on human resources is extremely strong. ”Consequently, measures are taken for a period of 15 days, from Tuesday 6 until October 19.
Bars and restaurants
The prefect of police, Didier Lallement, announced the closure of bars throughout this period, in Paris and in Petite-Couronne. As for the restaurants, they remain open for the moment, “subject to strict compliance with a new sanitary protocol.” The latter includes a “reminder book” in which the contact details of customers will be noted, in order to establish a tracing. any sick people, a maximum of 6 people on the same table and a bottle of hydro-alcoholic gel on each table.
Gatherings
Student parties in establishments open to the public are prohibited. The ban on gatherings of more than 1,000 people during events is extended and gatherings of more than 10 people on public roads banned. Exceptions are possible in certain cases (funeral ceremonies or guided tours, for example). Young people (20-30) are particularly affected. Christophe Kerreko, the rector of the academic region, confirms the reduction of reception capacity to 50% in universities.
Ehpad
According to the leader of the ARS, “115 nursing homes out of the 700 that exist in Ile-de-France are experiencing an active episode of the presence of the Covid, with at least one sick person.” Therefore, visits are allowed, only by appointment and with a number limited to two people. If possible, the meeting should take place in a dedicated space.
In addition, teleworking is not compulsory, but must be “encouraged”, to avoid social interactions. The prefect of police recalled that it was necessary to “learn to live with the virus”. He thanked the Parisians for having respected the “contract” and invited them to continue.
