World Pain Day allows, this Monday, October 15, to take stock of the different alternatives that can be offered to many people who are allergic to anesthetics and analgesics.
More and more people are allergic
More and more people around the world are suffering from allergies. Whether it is hay fever, a food allergy or animal hair, allergies threaten us all and the World Health Organization (WHO) has even made it the fourth chronic disease in the world. But if some allow those who are victims to live without too much difficulty, others are much more disabling. This is particularly the case with allergies to anesthetics and painkillers.
On the occasion of World Pain Day, Monday, October 15, the daily 20 minutes investigated this subject and the means that exist to relieve these people when they are in pain. Fortunately, to treat pain, many alternatives exist today. While acupuncture is very effective for some, others may turn to electrostimulation, a device that cancels out the pain by stimulating the pain pathways.
Hypnosis, a good alternative to anesthesia
For some, the allergy will not concern the molecule of the analgesic, but rather an excipient. Lactose is often used in particular in certain substances, you just need to take a lactose-free analgesic to treat yourself without risk.
Allergies to curare, a substance present in products used to anesthetize, can be very disabling if the subject has to undergo surgery. In this type of case, loco-regional anesthesia is recommended. It is indeed very little allergenic. Hypnosis has also already proven its worth. Many anesthesiologists have recourse to it and if, sometimes, hypnosis is accompanied by a light anesthesia, some operations can be carried out without any chemical product.
