Two months after opening its orders for individuals, the ë-Berlingo becomes available in a Van version intended for professionals. This 100% electric Citroën van, offered from € 30,500 excl. Tax, will thus be able to benefit from a recently reinforced ecological bonus for commercial vehicles.
Announced in December 2020, the ë-Berlingo Van will have taken its time to land in the catalog. But its arrival is timely: this summer, while the ecological bonus of passenger cars has fallen, that of utility vehicles has been reinforced. Vans keep an aid of € 7,000 if they are purchased by a natural person, or € 5,000 for a legal person. Enough to facilitate the start of the career of the Citroën van, which remains far from the prices of thermal models. Without deducting the bonus, its price starts at 30,500 € excluding taxes in size M. That’s € 100 less than the Peugeot e-Partner cousin, but the most expensive Berlingo diesel, the BlueHDi 130 BVM, is available from € 22,950 excluding VAT.
Better equipped than thermal models
To justify this bill, the ë-Berlingo can however count on more complete standard equipment from its access finish, Control. In addition to the necessarily automatic transmission, since it does not have a real gearbox, the 7 KW on-board charger and an 8A mode 2 charging cable, it also receives:
- manual air conditioning
- an electric parking brake
- 16-inch gray rims
- a real spare tire
Its 136 hp also make it the most powerful in the range, although it is only available in Sport mode. On the other hand, it can no longer receive either the adaptive cruise control, the additional heating, or the payload reinforced to 1000 kg. It will be necessary to be satisfied with 800 kg on all the M versions, or 750 kg on the XL whose length goes from 4.40 m to 4.75 m. As for the 50 kWh battery, if it does not strain the charging volume of up to 4.4 m3 in XL, it will not offer the autonomy of a diesel. Citroën announces only 275 km on the WLTP cycle. It’s 10 km better than the future Renault Kangoo E-Tech Electric, but it will rely on a heat pump to limit the loss of range in winter.
Equipment for the other three finishes
Four other finishes are also available on this ë-Berlingo. The Club version, available in M and XL, adds:
- rear parking aid
- cruise control-speed limiter
- under-inflation detection
- fog lights
- comfort driver’s seat (with armrest, height adjustment and lumbar adjustment)
- TPO plastic coated floor
The Driver variant, only compatible with the Berlingo M, is intended more, according to the brand, for “employees required to operate longer trips, sometimes over the whole day or to increase deliveries in urban areas. “In addition, it benefits from the following facilities:
- acoustic package with laminated windshield
- multifunction steering wheel
- automatic front wipers
- Citroën Connect Nav multimedia system on 8-inch touchscreen tablet
- 5-inch screen instead of the central mirror
- electrically folding exterior mirrors
However, it lacks the rear parking aid or the floor covered with TPO plastic present on the Club version. Finally, the Extended Cab version, based on the Berlingo XL, takes over the Control finish with the added bonus:
- front side and front passenger airbags
- 3-seater bench 2 / 3-1 / 3 retractable in row 2
- mobile mesh partition with hatch for long loads
- under-inflation detection
- 9 mm non-slip coated wooden floor
- 60/40 hinged rear hinged glass doors with wiper (left door)
- left and right side sliding glass doors (fixed)
- governor – Speed limiter
- inner rear mirror
- manual child safety
- comfort driver’s seat (with armrest, height adjustment and lumbar adjustment)
- aviation tablet on the back of the front seats
- multifunction steering wheel
