It is a very serious warning that the” National Medicines Safety Agency launches today: products offered for whitening or lightening the skin, injectables, are prohibited for sale because they are dangerous.
Muscle injectable products
We dare not imagine it, and yet, it is totally authentic. Products that can be injected under the skin, by muscular route, or intravenously, are marketed on Internet sites, but also in ethnic products stores, and promise … to whiten the skin ! Of course, this method of administration of a product is totally illegal, since it is strictly reserved for drugs, subject to authorization. To fully understand the rule, just know that a beauty cream for example, sold in supermarkets, is not subject to authorization, because it does not cross the protective barrier of the dermis of the skin! So, all the more so, a product claiming to be able to whiten the skin cannot be injected without authorization and control.
Products at best without effect, at worst dangerous
Some of these products, which can be described as quack products, are, at worst, colored water, which can already cause infections if the mixture is not sterile, and the dye is hazardous to health, but also cause much more serious disorders if the “cocktail” contains toxic products ! Cases of people having used these products, then, who consulted a doctor for various and sometimes serious disorders, were brought to the attention of the health authorities, who therefore ordered the distributors of these products to stop selling them.
Violators face fines and prison sentences, as they could be prosecuted for illegal pharmacy practice, and, where applicable, poisoning.
