Good news at last ! According to a study carried out in February 2017 by the YouGov institute for the company Invisalign on 1004 adults living in France, 73% of French people are “happy on a daily basis”. We are far from the image of Épinal of the grumpy, grumpy and continually pessimistic Frenchman…
For the French, the happiness, it is above all a family history. Thus, 49% of respondents say that having a successful family life “is what comes closest to their definition of happiness”. And 86% of those questioned believe that those around them (family and friends) “mainly contribute to their happiness”. Inevitably, the couple life is also cited since 40% of French people explain that the time devoted to their partner is one of the little things that gives them the most happiness on a daily basis. A trend observed in 43% of men surveyed against 37% of women…
Work, family, couple: the bases of happiness?
A certainty, themoney does not bring happiness: only 19% of respondents associate the notion of happiness with a stable financial situation. On the other hand, the work is a key factor since 62% of French people find that, in general, “happiness is also due to their external environment and good relations with their work colleagues”. However, they are “only” 5% to consider happiness from the angle of an exciting professional activity…
Health ? A priority for 48% of French people, who believe that good health is a “necessary condition” to achieve happiness.
As a reminder, World Happiness Day was held on Monday, March 20, 2017. But according to an international study published in February 2010, it would be necessary to wait until the age of 74 to finally reach this very special state… In short , we still have time!
