It seems obvious, the first principle for losing weight is to eat. Easy and you can do it intelligently… Yesterday was Groundhog Day… an example to avoid!
To lose weight, you must first eat less. All those who claim the contrary are mistaken; and above all lie to you!
The temptation would first be to start fasting. It’s logical, but not very clever. The body is much more accustomed to starvation situations than you are. We are precisely the survivors of those of prehistory, and in a few hundred generations, our brain, our cells, have imagined very sophisticated scenarios to enable us to survive. These emergency procedures are imprinted in our DNA, this intimate barcode, blueprint for every body. Famine, the body knows well… A situation not completely mastered, alas because we are not as efficient as the marmot which can hibernate for months… We, our reaction which allows man to spend several weeks without eating, is to “self-consume”; and we devour everything! Our reserves of sugar, fat certainly, but also muscle, and not always in the right order. This is the reason why, even keeping the drink, hunger strikes are so painful and above all dangerous. So, to lose weight, you have to eat intelligently…
Another temptation, in which the “miracle dieters” have engulfed themselves, that of consuming only one category of food, to deceive the brain. Often successfully. But the illusion only lasts as long as the deprivation lasts. The brain very quickly pays the bill, as soon as a normal diet returns, which is always the rule because, socially and dietaryly, it is impossible to consume the same thing for more than a few weeks. In response, our body replenishes, beyond need, to be ready in case some stupid new decision is made by the body owner! This is the explanation of the “yoyo” phenomenon. We lose a little… We gain a lot!
So to lose weight, you have to eat (a little) less and balanced. Simple isn’t it? Yes but how ? Again, you need to think a bit. Take a notebook, the block of your Smartphone or your computer, and write down the names of the ten foods or drinks that you consume the most.
Think about and identify the three foods you consume unreasonably; three foods to cut out for at least three months if you want to melt! These three foods are probably the biggest contributors to your weight gain or snacking. This is the beginning of the fight against bad eating habits. A struggle that will be long, because it is the key to the persistence of weight loss. These are not definitive prohibitions but rather a useful awareness to limit them in the long term. This is a personal process. Some will not agree to deprive themselves of three daily pleasures, but there is no excessive weight gain without overconsumption of at least three types of food. It’s up to everyone to discover them, which shouldn’t be complicated!
Now is the time to choose…
