The Artcurial auction house unveils, ahead of the Rétromobile show, a collection of eight cars including four of the most emblematic Ferrari supercars of their time: F40, F50, Enzo and LaFerrari. All in the same configuration: Rosso Corsa.
The story is beautiful since it concerns a pure Italian car enthusiast, now deceased. It was him that the Ferrari dealership of Gabriel Cavalleri (Monaco Motors) called in priority when a rare model was to be released. This gentleman was called Maître Etienne Léandri, he was a lawyer at the bar of Monaco and Councilor of State. “The Ferrari lawyer”, as he was nicknamed, had an exceptional collection. The latter will go on sale on March 18, 2022 in Paris, during the auction at the Rétromobile fair.

These 4 supercars will be sold by Artcurial at the Rétromobile show on March 18.
F40, F50…
It all starts with the wildest Ferrari ever created. It is often the favorite of brand aficionados and this is also the case for Mr. Léandri. In July 1989, he was delivered from his F40 with a specific configuration. Rosso Corsa on the outside, this slightly dark racing red, but also on the inside for the upholstery. This configuration could not be more “Ferrari at heart” will be repeated on all its other supercars, giving a particular binder to this collection. A first piece which turns out to be the cheapest of the lot, estimated between 1.3 and 1.6 million euros. The F40 and its original twin-turbo V8 has only clocked up 13,284 km, making it a truly sought-after example.

This was followed by the purchase of one of the 349 examples of Ferrari F50 in 1996. This particular model is certainly one of the least mileage in the world with its 1,318 terminals on the meter at the time of sale. A feature that should drive prices up beyond €3,000,000. It must be said that Master Léandri took care to leave his car only for special occasions and never in the rain. Their condition is close to perfect. Matthieu Lamoure, Managing Director of Artcurial Motorcars testifies to the rarity of the situation: “you cannot imagine the emotion of opening the doors of a Monegasque garage to discover the four Ferrari supercars, these models that make us all dream ! We say to ourselves that we are facing a treasure that cannot be found on the market today. »
More than 10 million euros on the red carpet

The collection also includes the brand’s last two V12-powered supercars. Starting with the Enzo and its shiny bodywork, as it left the dealership but with 4,760 km on the clock. Its disproportionate front overhang gives it a spectacular place among the other cars. This kind of feeling is what Master Léandri felt every day. Indeed his personal garage was located just under his cabinet, the cars were immobilized – connected to battery – in closed boxes. A LaFerrari completes the panoply. It has only driven 952 km, which again makes it an almost new model. The two monsters are estimated between 2.2 and 2.8 million euros.

These four supercars are accompanied by two other Ferraris: a rare 599 GTO and a 458 Italia. A Fiat 595 Abarth “Ferrari Dealers Edition”, bought new, served as his daily car. It is also present in the sale with a last Italian, almost intruding here: a Lamborghini Murciélago. Matthieu Lamoure recounts this anecdote “that Etienne had been badly received at the dealership by a new salesman. Out of a spirit of contradiction, he went to the competition”.
