Yellow Pieces: 35 years of existence this year
Created in 1989, the Yellow Pieces operation is a charity that helps improve the daily lives of hospitalized children and adolescents. It has helped finance nearly 9,700 projects at the hospital for more than 30 years.
For the 35th anniversary of its creation, the launch took place in Lyon, in the presence of Brigitte Macron, president of Pieces Jaunes since 2019, and Didier Deschamps, 2024 sponsor.
With the help of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the emphasis this year is placed on the benefits of physical activity.
Yellow Coins: cardboard piggy banks or connected donations
Piggy banks are available at the post office. All you have to do is go to your post office to collect the famous cardboard piggy bank and return it once it is full (even partially).
And this year, pharmacies can also participate in the collection by installing piggy banks on their counters.
Another more modern way to donate is to go online to the site pieces-jaunes.fr or by text message to 92111.
Solidarity demonstrations for the Yellow Pieces
Several events to support this action are planned. Like with the radio station RTL which is launching a challenge from January 10 to 15, 2024 in order to promote the most generous city between Brest, Nancy, Lens and Montpellier. The calculation will be made on the sum of the documents returned to La Poste in these 4 cities. The winning city will become the show’s next destination. RTL Morning.
And to close this 2024 Yellow Coins campaign, France Television offers a free gala. Many French and international stars will meet on the stage of the Accor Arena on January 26 for an exceptional show.
Yellow Pieces: projects for children and adolescents
Thanks to donations, many projects have seen the day. Let us cite, for example, the creation of a fun environment in the new waiting room of the Roubaix hospital center. Or, the creation of a Center for Adolescents (MDA) in Poitiers which allows them to be welcomed in a calm and adapted environment in order to provide them with responses adapted to their legal, psychological, educational or social needs. And at the Hendaye marine hospital, 50 first flights were offered to young patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.
The Yellow Pieces, a great initiative that lasts, with a single slogan: “Let’s mobilize for all hospitalized children and adolescents”.
