If coffee is appreciated early in the morning by almost everyone, it does not only have advantages. What other “exciting” drinks can you replace it with?
- If coffee consumption concerns more than eight out of ten French people, men are more addicted, with 88% of followers, against 79% for women, according to an Ifop / C10 study.
- According to experts, 10:30 a.m. is the ideal time to drink your coffee and stay awake all day.
Consumed by eight out of ten French people, and in large quantities (5.4 kilos per year and per inhabitant), coffee – its caffeine – allows many workers to get up on the right foot, by increasing concentration, attention, and preventing drowsiness. But overconsumption can generate acid reflux, palpitations, nervousness, even insomnia. So here are some alternatives.
Virtue drinks
First on the list, chicory is the classic coffee substitute. Rich in vitamins A, C, K, antioxidant molecules and fiber, it has real effects on the body. It strengthens the natural defenses and protects against infections, cellular aging, or even fills iron deficiencies.
Popular in Italy, barley coffee is also caffeine-free. It preserves sleep and does not increase tension. This coffee is energizing, but does not excite the consumer. Just like dandelion coffee: llightly full-bodied, it helps to fight against water aging, to fight against cancerous cells or even to treat skin problems (acne, eczema, dermatoses, etc.).
Teas, matcha, mate
Tea is another good alternative to coffee. Whether red, green or black, tea contains plant substances with antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Also composed of tannin, the tea must steep for a long time (about three minutes) to be as healthy as possible. Infusions or herbal teas also have many benefits: elimination of toxins, reduction of stress, anxiety and sleep time.
A variant of green tea, matcha latte is rich in vitamin A, beta-carotene and antioxidants, and therefore good for your health. Although containing as much caffeine as coffee, it is still much healthier. Not to mention that it helps burn fat.
Appreciated by football player Antoine Griezmann, mate is usually consumed in South America. A bitter drink, it helps fight against physical and mental fatigue, thanks in particular to antioxidants.
Vitamin drinks
If you like coffee and hot chocolate, carob is a good compromise between the two. Containing vitamin A and E, this drink helps fight against skin aging and promotes the feeling of satiety.
If you’re more of a cold drink, the orange and carrot smoothie is a great solution. Rich in vitamin C and B6, several minerals and beta-carotene, it gives you a beautiful complexion and improves visual health. Be careful, favor homemade smoothies instead of industrial products.
Finally, another fruity drink, lemon water can give a good boost in your day. Perfect detox ally, it can be drunk cold in the morning or hot in the evening.
