The smartphone itself is still a secret. But we do get a taste of Android on the Nothing smartphone (1).
Yesterday was the announcement that Nothing will come with its first smartphone. And just like OnePlus, yes we have to make that comparison, the tech company chooses to android don’t take it one-on-one. Instead, a skin is chosen. That skin will be called Nothing OS. And in a number of screenshots, the tech company from London shows what that will look like.
The typical house style of Nothing is reflected in the way they implement Android. A digital sauce about an otherwise quite calm-looking Android. You can’t ignore the fact that it resembles OxygenOS from OnePlus.
Not surprising, since Carl Pei is the big man behind Nothing. Pei was also the co-founder of OnePlus, but left the company to start a tech startup of his own. That became Nothing.
The layout cannot be called very colorful. It is mainly businesslike, minimalist and straightforward. You’ve got to love it. You can at least draw that conclusion based on the first few screenshots. The Nothing smartphone (1) unveiling will follow this summer.
