There is of course something else going on
The most effective way to protect an investment of 16.5 million euros is to use good brakes. With an 8.0-liter W16 engine with 1,500 hp, this Bugatti La Voiture Noire seems to get off its place rather quickly. And an accident can easily happen if the car cannot come to a stop in time. Take a good look at the video below of the La Voiture Noire and see if you can spot what goes wrong. That’s right: the brake calipers move with the brake discs.
So nothing happens when the claws grab onto the discs. But rest assured, no intern is going to be fired. The Bugatti below is not the 16.5 million euro La Voiture Noire, but the show model that the brand showed in 2019, when the car was not yet really built. The electric powertrain in this Bugatti is only intended to drive the car out of a trailer and to the show floor or other place to display the car.
The Bugatti promotes an expensive bottle of champagne
The dummy of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire was taken from the stable for an event of champagne brand Carbon in London. During the event, a 15 liter carbon fiber bottle was launched that takes 150 hours to make. This bottle is called La Bouteille Noire and so there was only one car appropriately enough to display next to the bottle of champagne. Carbon is only making one copy of the bottle and the price is unknown.
What is also still unknown is the owner of the real Bugatti La Voiture Noire. For a while it was rumored that it was Cristiano Ronaldo, but his manager contradicted this. The car is now ready and is therefore in the collection of the collector. Perhaps one day it will be spotted in the wild. The most expensive Bugatti ever has been dethroned as the most expensive new car ever not too long ago. That honor now goes to the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail.
