Ineos is exhibiting its Grenadier at the Paris Agricultural Show from February 26 to March 6, 2022. The only car manufacturer present at the event, the young brand is targeting outdoor professions with its pure and hard 4×4, including two versions utility vehicles are already planned from €47,600 excluding VAT.
As the marketing of the Ineos Grenadier gets closer, the manufacturer of this adventurous all-terrain is accelerating its campaign, in every sense of the word. Ineos is invited to the Paris International Agricultural Show, from February 26 to March 6, 2022 (Hall 1)to present his 4×4 to visitors and exhibitors at the event, who represent a large part of his target clientele.
An all-terrain vehicle for outdoor professionals
The Ineos Grenadier will be offered in France in a five-seater “tourism” version, intended for fans of outdoor excursions such as hunters, mountain bikers or boat owners who regularly have to tow their ship. But with an ecological penalty which could amount to €40,000 in 2022 and even €50,000 in 2023, this variant should remain a minority in terms of sales on the French market. Ineos first targets rural professionals, in the countryside as well as in the mountains, with the Grenadier. That is why two utility variants will be in the catalog from launch, a two-seater and the other five-seater, both homologated in category N1 to escape the ecological malus. From 2023, a four-seater double-cab pick-up will enrich the range, with an extended wheelbase chassis specially designed for the French market. A seven-seater model is in the works for later, based on the pickup chassis.
Ineos intends the Grenadier for farms, stud farms, ski resorts or even construction companies and property managers. The young manufacturer also wants to appeal to public services such as firefighters and gendarmes for example. NGOs are also favored, as well as agencies organizing expeditions or safaris.
After that of agriculture, Ineos should participate this year in the Mantes-la-Jolie hunting fair in March, at the Valloire all-terrain fair in August, and at the Paris horse fair in December, in order to seek out its niche clientele wherever it is.
The Grenadier is made to go to the fields, not the Champs-Elysées “, we are told at Ineos. ” It’s a type of vehicle that people will buy and keep for a long time. (…) We believe that customers will keep this vehicle for ten years “, adds the builder
The Ineos Grenadier will be marketed in July 2022 with a choice of a 249 hp six-cylinder diesel or a 285 hp six-cylinder petrol engine, two original BMW 3 L turbocharged blocks automatically associated with a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox gears with all-wheel drive and transfer case. Lockable differentials, rails for attaching accessories to the bodywork, trunk ladder or “snorkel” air intake will be offered for this 4×4 with a ground clearance of 26 cm, among other accessories dedicated to adventure. In the longer term, Ineos is considering a hydrogen Grenadier and is working on this project with Hyundai. A prototype will be tested from 2023. No plug-in hybrid or 100% electric on the horizon, or even E85 fuel.
Launching in summer 2022
Ineos is a British chemical group, its automotive subsidiary is based in Germany, and the Grenadier will be produced in France. The production of pre-series units has just started in the Smart factory in Hambach, in Moselle, acquired from Mercedes. In parallel with the grenadier, Ineos will continue to assemble Smart on behalf of the star group until 2024. Serial production of the Ineos Grenadier is due to begin in July 2022. The first deliveries are scheduled for next September, and Ineos says it is able to deliver the 15,000 pre-ordered vehicles before the end of this year. To do this, the firm will rely in particular on a dozen points of sale in France, and Bosch workshops as reinforcements for after-sales. The complete range will be detailed in April 2022 but a first indicative price has already been announced: €59,500 including tax or €47,600 excluding tax. The Ineos Grenadier can be pre-booked with a deposit of €450; validation of these orders will take place in April.
