Sexuality: one in three men has already faked an orgasm

In the collective imagination, it is easily accepted that women can pretend to reach seventh heaven. But if about 70% of them admit to having already simulated an orgasm with their partner, nearly one in three men also admit to having already faked it. 48% of homosexual men and 34% of bisexual men say they have already pretended to have fun, as do 25% of heterosexual men.

More blame

Fact to emphasize: the latter suffer more from the reproach. 21% of heterosexual men surveyed said they had a fight with their partner after admitting to faking it. Conversely, 31% of women who faked said their partner tried to do better after finding out.

“A sexual relationship should not generate guilt or shame. To promote fulfillment, it is important not to put pressure on yourself in the face of this race to orgasm. The main thing is to communicate and listen to your partner,” explains Dr Sophie Albe-Ly, doctor at Zava France.

Although 28% of men say it is easier to fake it with a one-night stand, more than one in three respondents (men and women combined) nevertheless admit to faking pleasure with a long-term partner. Statistics that drop to 15% once married.

Vaginal penetration provides the most pleasure

For 48.9% of French people, vaginal penetration is the sexual practice that gives them the most pleasure. Next come caresses (34.5%), fellatio (12.4%) and cunnilingus (4.2%). The most fond of caresses are the oldest (41.1% of 60-69 year olds), and the most sensitive to fellatio are young people (14.3% of 18-24 year olds).

Orgasm is the culmination and end of sexual arousal, characterized by intense physical sensations. That of men only lasts from 5 to 22 seconds, and is not systematically associated with ejaculation. When they lose focus just before cumming, the mechanics of ejaculation kick in, but the nervous system may not follow.
