The Renault Twingo evolves on March 1, 2022 with new names of finishes and minor aesthetic changes. The thermal version of the small city car loses its entry-level and is now €1,850 more expensive. The electric variant receives a smaller increase.
Renault is continuing its range upgrades with the Twingo. From 1er March, the small city car considerably reduces its offer. The Losange removes the Life and Limited access variants on the thermal version. The latter is therefore only available in two finishes. The electric Twingo E-Tech is better off and can still count on four different proposals. The new finishing names released on the electric Mégane e-Tech are also arriving at the same time.
A much more expensive entry-level
The Urban Night special series is still in the catalog and caps a thin range.
By drawing a line under its least expensive variants, the Twingo petrol sees its entry ticket go up to €15,600. That’s €1,850 more than before! For this price, you will always have to settle for the modest three-cylinder 1.0 SCe 65, the only survivor in thermal. With equivalent equipment, this increase is reduced to €300 on Équilibre and €600 on Urban Night. For the electric E-Tech variant, inflation reaches €400, with a first price that now starts at €21,950. The increase is less significant on the other finishes: €100 for Equilibre, €300 for Techno and €100 for the most chic Urban Night finish. Last change to date (since April 5), the basic Authentic livery has seen its price drop from 21,950 to 23,150 €; i.e. an increase of €1,200.
New trim names
As mentioned in the preamble, the Twingo also updates the name of its finishes. Life becomes Authentic, Zen is now called Équilibre while Techno replaces Intens. Regardless of the engine, the offer is always capped by the special Urban Night series. Renault adds to this evolution of the range some minor aesthetic changes on the thermal and the electric. Mirrors are now painted black rather than body color on Equilibre and Techno. As a bonus, the electric version loses its side air intake on the left side, which had no use here, and has its blue fittings removed on the Techno level.
On the Techno version, the electric Twingo loses its blue contrasting elements.
