Not necessarily what you expect from game accessory maker Razer: a set of thimbles that is actually called Finger Sleeve.
You have to pay close attention to what the world is doing to keep up with it. If you’re a company like Razer and doing what you keep doing, making game accessories, many console and PC gamers will thank you. But a larger market beckons and you have to respond to that too.
Mobile games
We are of course talking about mobile games. In recent years, you could expect various accessories from Razer to make mobile games better. Even an entire phone: there have been two generations of Razer Phone. The brand’s gaming phone was available early on, but is currently no longer available. That while there is still a lot of potential in that market.
Razer ‘thimbles’
So the brand has come to make life easy for the mobile gamer on devices from other brands. How about these cool Switch-like ‘joy-cons’ for your iPhone, for example? The invention of the present is somewhat less high tech. Razer releases the Finger Sleeves: it’s secretly just a set of thimbles.
Really brilliant?
That sounds derogatory, but secretly it’s quite a good idea. After holding your hot phone for a while and then soaking your hands in a tub of greasy chips, your phone screen is a mess of greasy finger marks and sweaty hands. The Finger Sleeves should prevent this oiliness, so that your screen stays nice and clean.
The Razer thimbles are thin and stretchy, so it almost feels like your fingers. Razer also promises that the Finger Sleeves will provide better touch feedback. Which makes the Finger Sleeves actually a bit better than your fingers. All that in a small piece of nylon with spandex that can be washed by hand.
The Finger Sleeves cost $9.99 per set. A bit pricey for a small piece of fabric, not expensive for a game accessory. Razer thimbles, we hadn’t thought of it either.
