“The mustache is royal”. This is the slogan that can be read on the Movember collective website, in its French version. What is Movember? A support initiative which “invites men around the world to grow a mustache to raise public awareness of male diseases and collect donations”, explains the collective on its home page.
Part of Australia in 2003, the idea spread from all over the world (United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Spain, Hong Kong, etc.) before d ‘arrive this year in France. The movement is launched: male supporters “clean shaven” on November 1 start growing mustaches today. They will have to keep their hair until the end of the month.
This “humanitarian” mustache could well bring back into fashion a mustache considered old-fashioned.
Among the male diseases supported by mustaches, the famous “Mo bros”, figure the Prostate cancer. Considered the 4th leading cause of cancer death, prostate cancer is responsible for nearly 10,000 deaths per year. All the more reason to support research.
Women can also play a role by supporting the “Mo bros” and making a donation. No no, no need for a mustache or to grow hair on the legs! Phew, here we are reassured.
