Touraine Sauvignon wines: watch out for broken glass
Two batches of Touraine Sauvignon wine bottles were withdrawn from sale on March 17, 2023 due to a “potential risk of small glass breakage following a manufacturing defect of the bottle on the top of the neck”. Pieces could cause injury if ingested.
The first recalled wine is from the Les Lunelus brand. These are 37.5 cl bottles, marketed since August 22, 2022. Their batch number is H22228LA.
The second is from the Château de Vallagon brand. It had been sold at wine merchants and in stores since April 5, 2022. The product’s capacity is also 37.5 cl. The GTIN identifier code is 3378482102668 and the lot number is H22333LA.
If you are in possession of these white wines, it is recommended that you do not consume them and return them to the point of sale for a refund.
A Corsican wine recalled because it would contain detergent
Another white wine is being recalled. The super U stores indicated that they had removed Terra Nostra Blanc 2021 AOP Corse bottles on March 15, 2023. The cause: they would contain detergent residues.
The product identifier code is 3333580008980 and the lot affected by the recall is L22620481 6:00 to 7:30. The authorities specify that this information is written at the bottom of the 750 ml bottle (inkjet printing on the glass). They have been marketed in all U stores since November 9, 2022.
“People who have consumed the wine mentioned above and who present symptoms (irritation and tingling of the mouth, stomach pains, etc.) are invited to consult their doctor, notifying him of this consumption”, specifies Rappel Conso. If you have one of the recalled bottles at home, it is recommended that you do not drink it and return it to the point of sale where an exchange will be made.
As a reminder, the benchmarks for alcohol consumption are:
- maximum 10 glasses per week;
- maximum 2 glasses per day;
- days in the week without consumption.
