Patients have full confidence in their doctor, according to a Carenity survey. But for preventive actions, the French believe, on the other hand, that they must improve.
Certainly, French town medicine has a good press: a survey carried out by the MACSF foundation and the Harris Interactive Institute, published last week, indicated that a large majority of patients trust their doctor. A trend which is confirmed with a new survey listing 3,560 French people, carried out by Carenity, the first online patient community. Main survey question: “Do patients like their doctor?” “

According to the survey, patients carry doctors in their hearts. In fact, most of them trust them (96%) and consider that they are very attentive to them (78%). And, in return, the patients seem to be relatively good students since 61% of them follow the recommendations of the attending physician when taking medication.
A lot
But Carenity did not limit its investigation to the attending physician: the questions are also addressed to other health professionals (pharmacists, nurses, etc.). And in this case, the opinions are more mixed. Indeed, 59% consider that the quality of listening is good overall, but 40% qualify it as mediocre or even bad.
A little
As far as prevention is concerned, the popularity rating of healthcare players is declining, including that of doctors. In fact, 39% believe that the preventive actions of health professionals are effective, but that they nevertheless require improvements, while 37% are not convinced. Carenity posted 3 surveys to the entire community between June 5 and September 24, 2014. 3,560 people responded on Carenity. The representativeness of the sample was ensured by quotas: sex, age, CSP and location.
