After having restyled the current model for the second time, Porsche is preparing the second generation of its Macan, scheduled for 2023. An SUV which will now be 100% electric and of which we could have a precise idea from September, thanks to a concept presented at the Salon from Munich.
A simple lighthouse: for the moment, that’s all that Porsche agrees to show of its future concept car. To discover it as a world premiere, the brand will meet us on September 6, at the Munich Motor Show. Nowhere does it indicate what this study is supposed to announce, but it has already revealed to us that it would be a show car close to the series. In these circumstances, it is difficult not to make the connection with the future Macan, the next big news from the manufacturer, scheduled for 2023. Especially since the appearance of the headlight coincides quite well with the prototypes of this electric SUV, some pictures of which were disclosed in early May.
A look reminiscent of the Taycan
An electric SUV connected to 800 V
This point is all the more crucial as there will no longer be any petrol or diesel engine. Porsche will even skip the hybrid stage, which nevertheless succeeds well with the big brother Cayenne or the Panamera. As we have already mentioned, only 100% electric will be part of this second generation, which will take over the new PPE platform, shared in particular with the Audi Q6 e-tron. A compatible base, like the Taycan’s J1, with an 800 refill V. It is therefore the promise of a very fast full of energy… on condition of finding one of the rare terminals capable of delivering such a powerful current. But, for the refractory looking for sockets, Porsche will continue to offer the current Macan in parallel for some time. It has also just offered a second facelift, which will be visible for the first time at the Salon in Munich.
