The Superior Audiovisual Council warns the publisher of Recettes Pompettes and demands the end of the broadcasting of these programs on the Internet.
This time, that’s enough, the biture online, the exhibition of the intoxication of celebrities, whose trembling gestures and glassy looks are the joy of Internet users. The CSA is going back to war against Pompettes Recipes, this web-television program broadcast on a Youtube channel.
The principle is relatively simple: for the guests, it is a question of making a cooking recipe by chaining the shots. The references to alcohol are particularly numerous and show the product from a rather favorable angle, it must be admitted.
Threatens
This is not to the taste of the CSA, which warns the company Studio Bagel Productions after having warned it, last June, “that it considered that the YouTube channel Les Recettes pompettes by Poulpe fell under the services of audiovisual media on demand (SMAD) defined in article 2 of the law of September 30, 1986 ”, specifies the CSA in a communicated.
In other words, the CSA considers that the platform used – Youtube – must meet the same rules as those imposed on other audiovisual media, where the promotion of alcohol is strictly regulated. “After having examined the observations of Studio Bagel Productions, the Council did not note any elements allowing a questioning of this analysis and confirmed that this service constituted a SMAD”, specifies the CSA.
In addition, the Council recalls the interpretation that it had formulated in June: “After having viewed the first episode of the program Les Recettes pompettes, posted on April 13, 2016, the CSA noted that it contained very many references with alcohol. It considered that this program, by ensuring a presentation of alcohol likely to encourage the public to consume it, constituted propaganda in favor of alcohol, this in disregard of the provisions of Article L. 3323 -2 of the public health code ”.
The CSA therefore reminds the Studio Bagel Productions of its obligations, and adorns itself with a threatening tone: “The Council therefore warned the publisher against the renewal of such a failure”, we can read.
In fact, the CSA has a power of sanction, limited but still existing. Most often, the warning precedes the formal notice, which itself precedes the sanctions (suspension of publication, limitation of distribution authorizations, financial penalty, etc.).
