In a study, Danish researchers found that men often exaggerate the length of their penis, but also their size.
- The average flaccid penis size ranges from 7 to 10 cm.
- Men tend to overestimate the size of their penis, according to a recent study.
- During the research, the men would have lied about the length of their penis, but also about their size.
According to different researches, the average size of a flaccid penis is between 7 and 10 cm, while when erect, the average length is estimated between 12 and 16 cm. In a recent study published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology, Danish scientists have observed that men tend to exaggerate the size of their penis.
An overvaluation of the size of the male sex
To reach this conclusion, the researchers conducted an online survey of penis height, weight and length among 224 Danish men. They then compared the average penis size of the volunteers to the average measurements in Denmark.
If each volunteer had answered the questions truthfully, the average height, weight and penis length of their population would be identical to the national figures, but this was not the case. Nearly 20 men claimed that their penis was longer than 34 cm. These participants were therefore withdrawn from the study, so as not to impact all the data. In the end, only the data of 191 men were retained.
A penis size 21% larger than the Danish average
According to the results of this survey, the average man would have a penis of 18.02 cm while the Danish average is 14.88 cm. In addition to having lied about the length of their sex, the volunteers also overestimated their size by adding a few centimeters to themselves. They didn’t lie about their weight, though.
“Our results suggest that private data related to body indices of masculinity can only be reliably collected in the laboratory, where conditions can be fully controlled (…) Given our results, scientific studies with self-reported data on penis size should be interpreted with great caution”noted the authors of the research.
