Since 2009, each healthcare facility has been required to publish the results of various indicators that provide an idea of the quality of the facility. The objective is twofold: to encourage professionals to improve their practices and to provide users with an inventory of the establishments they may visit. Information is found on the Ministry of Health website which now benefits from a tablet format.
The use of antibiotics has improved
The good news mainly concerns the fight against Nosocomial infections which pass in particular through a better use of antibiotics. Establishments that have moved to class A or B in this area have progressed by 10 points. 68% of establishments are ready to control the spread ofantibiotic resistance. The reassessment of the antibiotic prescription after 24 to 48 hours also improved (48% to 72%°).
Better maintenance of patient medical records and anesthesia records is also noted. The overall satisfaction score for hospitalized patients this year stands at 75.42 on a scale of one to 100. The attitude of healthcare professionals is acclaimed with a score of 92.39 but hospital catering still shows a meager result (54.31).
Efforts remain to be made for the treatment of pain
There is still progress to be made in the pain management. Its management is carried out and traced in more than 80% of the medical, surgical and obstetrical establishments of the files evaluated, but only in 76% of the HAH (Hospitalization at Home) establishments. Among the indicators lagging behind is also the delay in sending the letter of discharge from the establishment to the attending physician. It still too often remains longer than 8 days. Objective for next year: manage to organize the sending of this letter the same day, in dematerialized form (internet), and define a standard letter so that the doctor and the patient have all the information necessary for the continuation of the treatment or monitoring.
