A simple name, but not a simple smartphone. The Phone (1) from Nothing.
After bringing wireless earphones to the market, it is finally the turn of the long-awaited smartphone from Nothing. It is the second product of the London-based startup. The transparent case is striking, which is already a characteristic appearance. It stands out nicely.
The Nothing Phone (1) has a 6.55-inch OLED screen with HDR10+. Like the flagships of OnePlus, there is an adjustable 120Hz refresh rate. At the back is a 50 MP dual camera for razor-sharp photos. The brand has released its own operating system under the name Nothing OS. Obviously, this OS is based on Android.
Under the skin, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ provides the computing power. Nothing says that the demand for the device is enormous. With more than 200,000 reservations and bids over 3,000 euros for the first 100 numbered copies.
The smartphone has a standby time of two days. It is possible to charge the phone to 50% in 30 minutes with the cable. This is not very impressive. Competitors are much further along in this area.
By marketing the telephone extremely competitively, Nothing hopes to attract customers. The selling price is 469 euros for the Nothing Phone (1). Then you have a variant with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. For the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, you will lose 549 euros.
The Nothing Phone will be available at the end of the summer. The sale starts on July 21.
