Popular beliefs are often wrong, but that “big nose = big penis” has just been scientifically established.
- Men with a big nose have a 29% longer penis than those with a small nose.
- If men with a large nose have, on average, a penis of at least 13.42 cm, men with a smaller nose have a sexual organ that measures only 10.37 cm.
Men with big noses have bigger penises. This popular belief has just been validated by new research, published in Basic and Clinical Andrology.
126 corpses measured
To reach this conclusion, scientists studied the attributes of 126 corpses of Japanese men, who died between the ages of 30 and 50. The autopsies were performed three days after the deaths, between 2015 and 2019, at a university in Kyoto.
Since it was obviously not possible to induce an erection in a corpse, the researchers relied on the size of penises stretched with the hands. Conclusion: the larger the nose of men, the larger their penis.
Study of male genital functions
“The fact that the size of the nose is related to the length of the stretched penis indicates that the proportion of the penis is determined before birth”deduce the authors of the research.Although our results are useless for forensic purposes, understanding the process of penile growth and facial characteristics can be used to study male genital functions.” they add.
The team, on the other hand, did not find a significant correlation between the size of the nose and the weight of the testicles.
