From July 1, pharmaceutical labels will no longer exist. Currently, the stickers of different colors stuck on the medicine boxes provide information on the amount of Social Security coverage. Medicines with an orange sticker are reimbursed at 15% by Social Security; those with a blue sticker at 30%; those with a 65% white sticker and those with a crossed out white sticker (for expensive drugs), at 100%.
This summer, the system will therefore disappear in favor of the dematerialization of data. From now on, the pharmacist will give the patient with a medical prescription a detailed paper bill called the “Ticket Vitale”. This receipt will be printed on the back of the original prescription. The Ministry of Health specifies that this “Ticket Vitale” already exists but that its content will be broadened to include the mention, for each reimbursable drug issued, of the price, the coverage rate and the reimbursement basis.
