Officially launched on April 2 on the occasion of World Autism Day, the Autism Info Service platform will be the first national and free listening and information system. about the disease. Its objective is to help people with autism, those around them and the professionals working alongside them to obtain extremely complex information to unearth.
Listening and information are 2 essential needs
Co-chaired by Samuel le Bihan and Florent Chapel, the Autisme Info Service association was born from the desire of a handful of parents to provide families with reliable information.
According to a survey carried out for the occasion among parents or carers, but also autistic people93% of people say they need information on a daily basis and 80% say they have already looked for information on support without finding it.
When they do find the information, they point to particularly long delays in accessing it. Thereby :
- 38% took more than a year to obtain the information to be directed to a support system
- 46% took more than 6 months to find a healthcare professional
- 34% took more than 6 months to find information relating to education or administrative procedures.
